20,000 Views Under This Http: A Thank You From The Weirdo in the Toga

20,000I’m up way past my bed time, but I noticed that the clicker on my dashboard passed 20,000 views tonight.  Wow!  Thank you not only for reading the silliness that comes out of my bizarre imagination, but also for coming back time and again to glimpse things from my rather twisted point of view.

I started this blog on November 1 with a not so gentle push from The Girl Who Is My Muse.  She knew I needed something to keep my writing juices flowing when I was between screenplays or suffering from writer’s block on the current script.

I had no idea how much fun it was going to be to sit down every day and produce a new piece of writing, or how rewarding it would be to get instant feedback on my creation.  After I write a screenplay, it can take weeks, even months, to get an opinion from someone other than a close friend.  With a blog, however, you just hit the “Publish” button and the comments begin to flood the inbox.

Thank you.  This little community I’ve stumbled upon on this site has been incredibly supportive, has helped to breathe new life into my writing career (I was never good at writing comedy!), and has given me the confidence boost I so sorely needed.  You folks are just as much fun as the beings that visit me on a daily basis here at The House on the Hill.

TogaI hope you will continue to read the nonsense I post.  My goal is to keep you laughing, make you think a little, and get you all wearing togas by the end of the year.

Time to go to sleep.  I get some of my best ideas from my dreams, so let’s hope that spicy chicken I ate right before coming up to bed conjures up some wicked creative nightmares…

  1. So that translates to more than 20,000 laughs. Yay, you. :-)

  2. That’s creativity for ya…didn’t Ebeneezer Scrooge attribute the phantom of Jacob Marley to a slightly over-soured bit of gruel? YOU ARE IN GOOD COMPANY!!! :)

    • Poor Jacob Marley. He wrote a guest post for the blog back around Christmas, and it didn’t get many comments or likes. Maybe his sense of humor just doesn’t translate to our modern era? I might give him another shot at guest blogging, though…

  3. I will be very impressed if I end up in a yoga by the end of the year. Otherwise, though, I would say you are doing a good job of reaching your goals. :)

Congrats on the big 20,000. You’re a terrific writer that deserves to be read. Plus, you’re a bit nuts. I like that!

20,000 congrats to you for reaching such a milestone. I’d say it’s testament that what comes out of your head is filling some of the voids in your readers’ heads and hearts (since I think laughing comes from the heart). I look forward to seeing you reach 200,000!

Well done! You’re an inspiration. And if the temperature ever goes back up over 10, I’m all about that toga!
