Challenge Accepted: Why I’m Thankful

I was speaking to a colleague about what I should do for a Thanksgiving Day entry on the blog, and she challenged me with: “You’re the creative one.  Figure out something different.”

While the Modern Philosopher’s way is to go after the Deep Thought, my gray matter didn’t even have to break a sweat to answer the query: “For what are you most thankful?”  The deep thinking came into play on deciding how to convey the answer.

After much pondering and a toga change (I used up all the thoughts in the first one!), I finally came up with this…

The clip is from “Beautiful Girls”, which is one of my all-time favorite flicks.  It’s well-written (always acknowledge the writing first!), has a stellar cast, and Natalie Portman makes it clear that she intends to grow up to be an Oscar winning actress.

What’s important to ask for the sake of this blog entry is: What is the significance of this movie in Austin’s life?

There’s one other person in the world who knows the answer to that question, and she is what I am most thankful for on this Thanksgiving…and every other day of my life.

Happy Thanksgiving, beautiful mystery answer to my philosophical query!

What are you most thankful for, Modern Philosophers?  If you decide to answer that in the comment section, be creative.  My favorite answer earns the right to come over and have my leftovers…if you can get to them before the Zombies do!

  1. I’ve always liked Natalie Portman…there’s something so intelligent & elegant about her. As for Hutton…I am currently loving him as Nate on Leverage.
