Thank You, Veterans

SoldiersWhen I was just a boy,

Growing up safe and sound

In Brooklyn,

I dreamed of one day

Wearing a uniform

And running onto the field

At Yankee Stadium

Like my childhood heroes.

Now as an adult,

Living safe and sound

In Maine,

I think of

The men and women

In uniform

Who ran into harm’s way

To make sure

That I remained safe anVeteransDayd sound

In the Land of the Free

And the Home of the Brave.

Thank you, Veterans.

You are

My true heroes!

About Austin

Native New Yorker who's fled to the quiet life in Maine. I write movies, root for the Yankees, and shovel lots of snow.
