What Would Ben Kenobi Do?

obi-wan-kenobiTwo college boys

Sitting in a Starbucks,

Eying the cute barista,

Daring each other

To ask her out.

Clearly, neither has

The confidence

Or the je ne sais quoi

To approach her.

I saunter to their table,

Shake my head,

Then impart

My words of wisdom:

Ben“What would Ben Kenobi do?”

Minds blown,

Like the Episode IV Death Star.

My work here is done.

I don’t even drink coffee.

I only come here for

The Star Wars references.

  1. Ha! I’d come just to hear the references.

  2. Ben Kenobi would just stand there and look awesome and confident, not saying a word..
Do you think the 2 college boys could actually do that?
I don’t know. I know that my male cat could do that without a problem. He sits around and looks wise all of the time. Even when the female squirrel came to the front door and practically swooned over him, he never lost his composure. πŸ™‚

My comment was more ironic than true advice. Thought if the college boys generated some Deep Thoughts on the topic, it might spring them into action. They were just sitting there, and clearly they weren’t going to ask her out. Just doing my thing…

Oh pretty please do Star Wars poetry more often?! Just the fact that I can use those two things in the same sentence is making me all tingly!

may the force be with you

  5. The Cutter says:

Kenobi wouldn’t have asked her out because I thought love was forbidden for the Jedi.

  6. Aussa Lorens says:

I’m pretty sure that if a stranger approached me in a starbucks and made a star wars reference I would follow them around for the rest of my life like a supplicant.

There is no try, do or do not.
