I’m too sick to write a post tonight, Modern Philosophers. That guy in the photo on the left looks a thousand times better than how I feel.
It started as just a tickle in my throat this morning, but all day long, it just got worse. I could not stop coughing, and it felt like there was this annoying feather fluttering around in my chest.
The last forty-five minutes of my work day was plagued by sudden stomach pains and gurgling. Not good.
The Girl Who Will Soon Be A Doctor prescribed soup and rest. As my symptoms have now worsened, I have sent her a request for virtual tummy rubs. I am a tremendous baby when I’m sick, and no one has ever taken better care of me than The Girl Who Gives The World’s Best Tummy Rubs. Hopefully, those will arrive in an email soon.
I am already in my Magic Robe, which always makes me feel better. I can feel her loving hugs keeping my aching body warm. I’m getting ready to make some soup and I think I’m going to need to drink a lot of water. I’m burning up as I ramble on here…
It’s definitely Hump Day, Modern Philosophers, because I feel like I was trampled by a dozen camels. And they were definitely the kind with two humps.
Reader’s Digest taught me that laughter is the best medicine, but I am a little too delirious right now to write anything funny.
Perhaps you guys can amuse me with witty comments at the end of the post? That could help with the healing process. At the very least, it will make for something humorous on this blog this evening.
Does anyone have a cure for the Winter Death Flu, which is what I have self-diagnosed myself as having? Who needs Web MD when you’ve got an imagination like mine?
I’ll take any suggestions. I’ll just be here on the couch, watching TV, and trying not to couch up a lung. I’m really not in the mood to clean up something like that.
Sorry that I can’t deliver my normal uproariously funny Wednesday Night post, but I’m infected! I’m pretty sure this has something to do with that headless Snowman out on my front lawn. I knew it was a harbinger of horrible things to come…
Hope you are all feeling better than I, Modern Philosophers!
Aw hope your a lot better real soon.
thank you…
Sorry you’re not feeling well Austin. Those pics are funny.
thanks… 🙂
I can’t really think of anything funny to say in this comment, but may I recommend my own latest post? It contains zero politics (I would never recommend politics as a cure for anything), and it’s about milk, so it should be good for your health.
milk is supposed to do the body good…
Too bad I’m in Scotland and no longer Bangor. I’d take care of you with a mix of specific therapeutic grade essential oils. If they wouldn’t stop your cold in its tracks, it would lesson the severity of it…
Thanks!
Get well quick, Austin!
thank you…
My suggestion is, to get plenty of rest, stay away from infectious laughter.
hardy har… 😉
Reblogged this on By the Mighty Mumford and commented:
POOR GUY. AT LEAST SHE COULD SEND HIM A PICTURE OF HERSELF IN HER NEW LAB COAT! 🙂
HEY WAIT…laughter is good for the soul! But see my reblog comment…if she has nothing else on but the lab coat…parted a little in certain places! (Yes, you heard that from me!) 🙂

How about Sheldon’s song: Soft kitty, warm kitty little ball of furr, happy kitty, sleepy kitty purr purr purr. 🙂
that made me smile…thank you!
I’m so glad. 🙂
Feel better soon.
thank you…
Just got over the plague, it lasted about a week! Hopefully yours doesn’t last as long.
thanks, liz…
I truly hope you feel better soon.
thanks, phoebe… 🙂
aww, hope you feel better soon, austin. may you have the hugs of two camels to speed you along on your way )
i’m not sure if camel hugs are what i need, but thanks…
Web MD published a study on Samboca Elderberry extract. It cuts the flu symptoms to around 2 days. I had the flu, took it every four hours and was up and around in around 48 hours. Don’t get the crap at the pharmacy, but the real extract. The history behind it is a century old but it has only been recently that scientisits have really studied it. Get better friend!
thanks. i will look for what you recommended. my witch friends might have some… 🙂
My daughter has a feel-better-sweater. I think it might be related to your robe. Hope you feel better soon!
thank you…
I just posted a Natural remedies post…they might help! Hope you feel better soon 🙂
i will check it out. thank you…
I know somewhat how your feeling. I was sick for a month, first the flu, then bronchitis. The darn coughing just wouldn’t stop. I made a trip to doc. 20 days of antibiotics did the trick. I hope you start feeling better. Better day’s ahead. Ayup!
i can’t stop blowing my nose today, which i think is a good sign. the beast is leaving my body…
Rest. Sleep. Lots of liquids. Maybe some Chicken Soup. I use the immune-booster called Emergen-C… up to 4 times per day. Feel better soon!
Getting better today. Enough to use capital letters in my replies again… 🙂
But you did write twice today! You are prolific even when bogged down with a stomach virus. Amazing. I hope you feel much better today. Take it easy on your stomach!
I will. Thanks! Feeling a little better…
