We’ve made it to the final Friday and last day of February, Modern Philosophers. When we wake up tomorrow, we will be one month away from April. Spring is coming!
I’m wearing my formal toga to the Think Tank tonight because it’s Academy Awards Weekend, and a Modern Philosopher always looks his best for the Oscars.
Let’s go generate some Deep Thoughts. Remember, though, to keep rambling on for too long in your comments, or else the orchestra will play you off. No one wants that, so let’s be concise, precise, and to the point.
This week’s topic: It’s always been my dream to one day win an Academy Award for Best Screenplay. What’s your big time dream, Modern Philosophers?
I still haven’t given up on my dream. I know I still have some great screenplays in me, and I’m becoming a better writer with each passing year.
I’ve already had two of my screenplays turned into feature films, so it’s not like this dream is completely without foundation.
The Academy Awards are akin to a Holiday for me. I bought some Oscar snacks tonight, will have my formal toga pressed and dry cleaned for Sunday night, and I intend to stay up until the Best Picture winner is announced.
The Girl Who’d Look Amazing In A Formal Gown used to dream with me about what we’d wear to the Oscar ceremony. I always pictured her in a green dress. For some reason, I just think she’d look amazing in that color.
So that’s my dream, Modern Philosophers. What’s yours?
I look forward to reading all your comments, but not until after the accountants have tallied them for me…
I don’t know that I have a dream to win any award or accolade. I just hope that I impacted the lives of those around me for the better. That’s what I want to “win.” Cheesy, I know…but that doesn’t make it absolutely true.
Very nice answer. Thank you for sharing that Deep Thought. 🙂
To win the Nebula Award for best Science Fiction. For all the unpopular kids in school that everyone teased, for the wallflower who was insulted time and time again, for all the kids out there who were told, “You’ll never amount to anything.” I would accept that award. 🙂
That would be awesome. Great speech, too! 🙂
Now all I have to do is get people to buy my book. Hint…hint….hint…
I’m sorry, that was simply shameless of me. 🙂
That’s fine. You just trashed my Oscar dream, so you can do anything you want at this point…
No…I didn’t trash your Oscar dream, so stop moping!!! (as opposed to mopping) 🙂
I said that the day you get an Oscar is the day it will mean something.
What is it with this week? No matter where I turn, what I do or what I say, I seem to be putting both feet in my mouth, chewing vigorously, and ending up with not a leg to stand on. 🙂
🙂
my dream is to have each of my 3 daughters realize their dreams and for me to fall madly in love again.
Awww…I love it! 🙂
Ive always wanted to sing for Disney or be a poet laureate. It will never happen, because I don’t put myself out there except on my blog, but they are nice dreams.
Dream a little dream… 🙂
My dream is very similar to yours. My Academy Award winning screenplay will be based on my award winning novel 🙂
The BIG dreamer! Gotta love it. Best of luck. 🙂
