It’s a beautiful Sunday here in Maine, Modern Philosophers, so I thought I’d take a little stroll through the neighborhood. Would you guys like to join me?
I often blog about writing on the front porch of The House on the Hill. Well, this is the view I have when I’m out there in my writing toga. Very peaceful.
I found this set up on the corner just down the block. Apparently, I’m not the only one on my street who likes to work outside. I imagine an office setting like this really cuts down on the overhead, but it must be a pain to heat…
This is what passes as traffic in my neighborhood. Look at all those cars lined up at the light. It’s like I never left Los Angeles and the freeway traffic…
Apparently, no one has told these folks that Halloween is over. Perhaps they haven’t seen all the annoying Christmas commercials on TV, which surely would have tipped them off…
I know I haven’t shared a running post in a long time, Modern Philosophers. That’s because I have been lazy and haven’t gone on a run in ages. Hey, at least I went out for a walk today, so give me some credit.
This is Eastern Ave, the setting for most of my running posts. Don’t worry. I’ll put on my Running Toga and hit Eastern Ave again very soon!
When I went out for my walk, I had no idea I’d come across a seal…
This is the football field where the Witches of Brewer High School play their home games. It’s not far from The House on the Hill, but I’ve only attended one game.
The bleachers are uncomfortable and the team isn’t very good. If I want to watch bad football, all I have to do is turn on the Jets game.
Thanks for joining me on a quick walk around my neighborhood. Feels good to get a little fresh air, doesn’t it? Happy Sunday!
Thanks for the walk, it was enjoyable.
You’re welcome. It’s so nice out, so I knew we had to do it!
thank you austin. it was almost how i imagined it to look. you guys are not into gardens over htere are you??? it reminds me of portland oregon. i loved that place.
have a happier week at work.
Things are dead right now. It’s Winter. There are gardens when it’s warmer…
Thanks for taking us along
It was nice having you there. 🙂
🙂 Have a good one.
You, too!
Monday is done !!!
Pretty much.
I’m glad I got that out of the way. Time for a nap!
Enjoy!
It does look like a nice day, thanks for taking us along on the walk.
No problem. It’s always good to have company!
Wouldn’t you know, we raked our leaves this afternoon and you took the picture this morning! The house does look so bare once the garden is cut back!
Your house looks wonderful, as always. It only would’ve been a better photo if you were in it. 🙂
Thanks for the tour through your neighborhood. Even though It’s rainy and gloomy here–the sun is shining somewhere.
I’m glad you enjoyed the tour. 🙂
Its great being shown around a neighbour hood so thank you very much for asking me to join you. I enjoyed the walk and will return the favour very soon.
Thanks, Hugh!
I love old neighborhoods…
Thanks. 🙂
What? No snow? I just assumed there would be zombie footprints in the snow. Hmmm. I guess I need to keep reading to find out what Maine is really like.
Big storm coming tomorrow. More photos to be posted tonight as I went on a walk at lunch today… 🙂
I would have been happy with “just a dusting”, so bundle up in layers and stay warm. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
I just posted the first photos of the blizzard. Rough stuff!
Do you have wood heat/cooking/firelight?
I am fine now that I am inside.
I wish you a hot cocoa with marshmallows.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Well, right now, it’s about to be a shoveling snow Thanksgiving…
Don’t you have a snowblower? Both of my cousins have plows.
No. My neighbor does, though. He helps me out from time to time…
Good neighbor. 🙂
For sure!
