It’s Taping Night, Modern Philosophers!
Just a quick post to remind you that I am on my way to The Gracie Theatre on the campus of Husson University for another taping of The Nite Show With Danny Cashman.
We are taping three shows and then the monologue for the New Year’s Special, so I have had to write a lot of jokes over the past few days. Now I’m excited to sit in the audience and discover which of my rib ticklers make it onto the air.
An added bonus tonight is that beloved (can you sense the sarcasm dripping off that adjective???) Governor Paul LePage is going to be a guest. I really hope he puts on a Santa Claus suit and everyone in the audience gets to take turns sitting on his lap to tell him how he’s screwed up Maine over the past four years!
As always, I will be tweeting and posting photos from the taping. If you don’t follow me on Twitter already, you can find me @Austin_Hodgens (or just click on the Twitter gizmo over on the right side of the page!). Since most of you are unable to actually watch the show on TV, I’ll do my best to make you feel like you’re in the audience with me.
I’ve developed a pre-taping ritual for the new season. I leave work early, pick up a hot and ready pepperoni at Little Caesar’s, grab a Snapple at Hannaford, and then come home to write this post to you, Modern Philosophers.
Soon, I’ll head over to The Gracie so I can help with pre-show prep, chat up the audience as they gather in the atrium, and take a peek at things backstage.
Looking forward to a great night. I’ll tell you all about it later when I return to The House on the Hill. By the way, Timbo says hi!
Hope you are all having a wonderful Hump Day!
Have fun!
Thanks, Rowan!
I love Timbo! Have a great time!
Thanks, Suzie!
Hi, Timbo! Have fun trying not to tick off the Governor.
I might have to banish myself to the back of the theater…
Hopefully he doesn’t follow you on Twitter.
I hope he does!
Enjoy grousing at the Guv’ner, Austin. I hope you land lots of jokes. Scarf down an extra slice of Lil’ Ceaser’s pepperoni to prep for the big night! Three shows and the New Year’s monologue. That’s a lot of joke scores in one sitting, sir. 🙂
I know, right? Off to have some fun!
You’re in the catbird’s seat–nothing like politics, politicians for new jokes and story ideas.
And Miss Maine in a short dress showing off LONG legs…
Duly noted and added to my fantasy life–aye, yi, yi.
🙂
Woooot! Have fun
I did!
See you on Twitter! HAVE FUN!!!
Do you follow all my tweets and see my pics on Facebook? I was a sharing fool tonight!
I saw the twitter feed, but not until the show was over. Looks like you had a great time!
Yes, I did! Exhausted now. Glad I’m off until Monday.
