A Letter To Santa Claws

CaliDear Santa Claws,

Daddy told us that we should write you a letter to tell you what we want for Christmas.

We’ve been talking, though, and we can’t think of anything that we need.  You see, all we ever wanted was for someone to give us a new forever home, and we got that gift back in August when Daddy adopted us.

Sure, we were really nervous at first.  What if they tried to separate us?  There was no way that we wanted to go to a new home without each other.  The thought of being apart made us scared, and that’s why we always backed away when someone would come to look at us in the shelter.

We figured that if we didn’t look all adorable and sweet, people would just pass us by, and we wouldn’t have to worry about someone wanting to adopt just one of us.

We knew that the Bangor Humane Society was a safe place, and that the amazing people who worked there would love us and take care of us.  Our thinking was that when the right person came along, he would want us even though we seemed shy and scared.  And that person would want to adopt us as a tag team.

BHSWe were so right, Santa Claws!  When Daddy visited the Bangor Humane Society that day, he couldn’t stop talking to us.

He didn’t want to leave our pod, and he stayed there trying to coax us to come closer and see if we liked him.

You know what?  We liked him right away.  We just didn’t want to get out hopes up, though, because we knew that there were other kitties there who were cuter, younger, and more playful.

But Daddy made it clear that we were the ones he wanted to take back to The House on the Hill.  He kept telling us about the place and asking if we’d like to live with him.

Of course we wanted that!

Santa Claws, the last four months have been so happy.  We love our Daddy and our new home.  The House on the Hill is so big, there are so many places to run and hide, huge windows for us to sit in the watch the birds, comfy beds to nap on, tons of toys, and all the food we could ever want.

Plus, Daddy has a perfect nap for curling up and taking a nap.  And he knows exactly how to pet us to make us purr.

Best of all, we are together.  Sisters forever!

So what we want for Christmas, Santa Claws, is for you to bring someone just like Daddy for all of our friends who are still at The Bangor Humane Society.  Please let them get the forever homes they deserve.

LunaThat’s all we want for Christmas, Santa Claws.  Could you please make that happen?

Thank you.  Merry Christmas!

Love,

Cali & Luna

  4. “Mew-sic to our ears,” say JJ and Indy in unison. “Mama rescued the two of us at a farm where we were staying after someone found us in a cardboard box by a busy country road,” purrs Indy, big brother. “We were only five weeks old. I kissed her hand when she picked me up, and that was it. JJ is my little brother and we are inseparable. Mewwy Christmas! “

  5. Cali & Luna look purr-fectly happy. Glad you found each other. Great feline Christmas story.
