Juno 2: Blizzard Boogaloo In Select Theaters Now

Juno posterThe sequel to Juno, the indie film darling starring Ellen Page and Michael Cera, and winner of the Best Original Screenplay Oscar, has finally arrived in Maine.

Juno 2: Blizzard Boogaloo, written and directed by Snow Miser, has received an incredible amount of hype in the days leading up to its release.

Critics, however, have not been very favorable.

“Been there, done that,” shouted Amber Cyr of Hermon as she struggled to be heard over the howling winds.

“Just another Tuesday in Maine,” chuckled Barry Mushero of Bangor as he sat out on his porch for a smoke.

“Can’t they come up with anything original?” demanded Kori Reynolds of Old Town.  “They just repackage the same old stuff, slap a number on it, and tell us it’s going to be the Sequel of the Century.  Whatevs.”

As for me, Modern Philosophers, I have a Snow Day and am mentally preparing myself to go outside for the first round of shoveling.

I’ve taken a few photos of Juno, but from the safety of my house…

Juno 1It is very windy, and the snow is coming down quite hard.  I couldn’t really capture the full essence of the conditions from the other side of the glass, but this should give you an idea of how scary the sky looks.

Juno 2I woke up at 4am, which was when the Blizzard Warning went into effect, and crept down the hall to look out of the hallway window.

I was stunned to still see blacktop in the driveway.  I guess Juno arrived later than expected.  I hope it still intends to leave at the same time, though.

Juno 3There has not been a single car or snow plow on my block since I’ve been awake.  Hopefully, people are smart enough to not drive today.

I do hope the plow makes regular passes of my street, though.

That’s it for now, Modern Philosophers.  More updates will follow over the course of the day.  Feel free to send warm thoughts my way…

  1. I thought of the film as soon as I head what they’d called it – I remember being bored senseless in the cinema and couldn’t leave because I’d brought a female friend with me and my other friend, who was male, was trying to hook up with her. I hope the sequel is much better for you 😉

  2. We already have about a foot of snow at the Dumbass Dome, Austin. Only 15 more hours of blizzard to go!

  3. Stay warm. Don’t get lost in the snow while shoveling. Takes rests too.
