Thursday Night Grocery Party!

Austin Juno pileDr. Jekyll told me I needed to shake things up a bit, Modern Philosophers, if I wanted to keep my Post Traumatic Snow Disorder in check.

With a lonely Valentine’s Day on the horizon and another blizzard in the weekend forecast, I knew I needed to take extreme measures tonight to keep me from falling back into my funk.

Since I am both wild and crazy, I decided to go grocery shopping.  On a Thursday night!  I mean, who does that, am I right?

I brought the camera with me so that you cold join me on my Thursday Night Grocery Party.  And to add to the sense of adventure, I told myself I had to take all the photos without getting caught.

Out of control!  Madman in Aisle 7!

Shopping 1The very intense moment of truth.  Normally, I would go straight at this light to continue on to The House on the Hill.

Tonight, however, I went left.  Routine broken.  Madness unleashed!

Shopping 2We’re having a Dessert Bar at work tomorrow to celebrate either Friday the 13th or Valentine’s Day.  Take your pick.

I decided to…umm…bake an apple pie for the event.

Shopping 3The Hannaford Deli Counter.  Stuck behind a guy in work overalls.  Do you see the red hot dogs in the case?  Can you just smell the Maine emanating off this photo?

Shopping 4Ever had one of those days when even this wasn’t enough wine to take the edge off?

Shopping 5In Maine, this is considered the Fine Pastas Aisle.  Wicked yummo!

Shopping 6Remember when there was only one kind of Chips Ahoy and it came in the blue package with cartoons on the back?

I couldn’t believe how many different varieties of the famous chocolate chip cookie were now for sale.  I almost bought the bag that was brownie stuffed.  A brownie stuffed inside a chocolate chip cookie.  No wonder this country is so damn overweight!

Shopping 7The Bachelor Dinner Aisle!

Frozen Pizza is the single guy’s best friend.  Look at how simple those instructions are.  The hardest part about frozen pizza is picking the kind you want…

Shopping 8You really didn’t think I was going to leave the store without any Snapple, did you?

Shopping 9This one’s for Cali and Luna so they know that Daddy was thinking of them while he was on his out of control shopping spree.

That Liver & Chicken is their favorite!

Shopping 10Thursday night right after work is definitely the time to go to Hannaford.  The place was almost completely deserted.

Shopping 11I would’ve thought there would be more people shopping tonight with tomorrow being Friday the 13th and a huge blizzard predicted for Saturday night…

Shopping 12My final haul.  Not bad for a party monster like me.

Gotta buy that toilet paper in bulk so you never run out, am I right, single guys?

Thanks for joining me on my little adventure.  Now I have my Friday night free to join my friends who are going to hang out at Camp Crystal Lake.  That should be a blast…

Glad you went for the supreme frozen pizza, Austin. I always go for the supreme frozen pizza. But when I’m actually in a pizza place buying a slice, I usually just get plain cheese. Go figure.

Looks like you bought enough toilet paper to last a man two months, and a woman two days.

  5. Gulden’s mustard. A man after my own heart!!! And I spy pumpernickel bread in that wagon. But did you say red hotdogs? Are they red for valentines day? What happened to Sabretts or even Nathan’s. I’m hungry now thanks a lot lol.
