It was 27 degrees and sunny when I left work for The House on the Hill at 3:00, Modern Philosophers. Because this Winter has been so frigid and harsh, it actually felt like a Spring day.
When I got home, I cleared the melting snow and ice from the driveway in just a tee shirt and a light jacket. No heavy coat, no hat, no gloves, no scarf, and no boots.
It’s weird the tricks the mind can play on a Modern Philosopher struggling with Post Traumatic Snow Disorder.
Did I mention we’re supposed to get another 6-10 inches of snow tomorrow?
I’m not worried about tomorrow’s storm, though, Modern Philosophers, because it’s Show Day! Shortly, I’ll be headed to The Gracie Theatre, on the campus of Husson University, for tonight’s taping of The Nite Show With Danny Cashman.
After a two month hiatus, the top rated late night talk show in Maine is back! Finally, the distraction that I needed to get my mind off of how crappy this Winter has been.
I spent the last few nights writing monologue jokes, and that became a form of therapy. Plenty of angry jokes about the snow and Winter were submitted to Danny, and I hope they make it onto the air.
I will make sure to take plenty of pictures at tonight’s taping, and I’ll be tweeting about the show as it happens.
Do you follow me on Twitter? There’s a button in the right margin that allows you to follow me instantly. If you want to be old school and add me by typing it into Twitter, my address is @Austin_Hodgens.
Wish you guys could join me at The Gracie tonight. It is so cool to be a part of making a TV show and being able to get live audience reaction to my jokes.
I’ll be back later with a recap of the night. Enjoy what’s left of your Hump Day!
Hope everything goes well, Austin. 🙂
Will await the pictures and stories that go with them. 🙂
Thanks, Donna. Story and pictures posted. Enjoy. 🙂
good luck tonight )
Thanks, Beth! It was a great taping. 🙂
I love your pics during the show!!!
Thanks. I figured it’s great publicity for the show to have me sharing and lie tweeting with those who can’t be there. 🙂
