Monday Morning Coffee Club: 2/23/15

Giant mugIt’s the Monday morning after the Oscars, Modern Philosophers.

That means I went to bed after midnight, but still got up at my regular time to take on the new week.

As an added bonus to an already glorious morning, it snowed overnight, so I’ve got to get my sleep deprived ass outside to shovel before I go to work.

I know I am already on record as hating this Winter, but let me make that statement again just in case the court reporter did not get it the first thousand times I said it…

I hate this Winter!

The temperature actual rose above 32 degrees yesterday, so snow was melting, I could see the blacktop in the driveway and the street again, and I stupidly thought it was a sign that things were turning for the better.

I hate when I act like a naive idiot.

I need to keep this one short, Modern Philosophers, because I hae to squeeze some thrilling shovel time into an already exciting Monday morning schedule.

Austin JunoHelp yourself to some coffee and try to keep in mind that it is only thirty-six days until April 1.  I’m not sure if the snow and cold will be gone by then, but we all need something to look forward to in order to keep our Post Traumatic Snow Disorder in check.

Sorry that this post isn’t more uplifting, but it’s Monday, it’s Winter, and there’s more snow on the ground.  You’re lucky this isn’t a 300 word curse riddled rant to be perfectly honest.

Only 17 more hours until this day is done.  Hang in there, Modern Philosophers!

My son was born in Minnesota in mid April. When I went home from the hospital it was snowing. Some years are like that.

Yesterday was a record warm in my part of Florida. We were outside in t-shirts. Only 2 days prior, it reached 26 at night. I think the Earth has bi-polar temperature disorder.

  4. The weather here in the outback of central Queensland is recording very high heat temperatures. I would gladly trade for some ice cold right now.

Long Awkward Pause recapped the whole thing. Turns out you didn’t have to watch the Oscars after all. I know I didn’t… Ugh!

  6. I also am feeling the slowly increasing squeeze on my throat by this unrelenting Maine snow. I went to bed at 2:00 AM. It was starry, no wind. I wake up 6 hours later and we have a few more inches of snow and the wind is howling… What?! Was that even predicted? Like I said at the Nite Show taping, it was about 7 or so years ago that temps in mid February reached 40 every day and only got warmer—an early spring. Also that year, we got dumped on by snow in Dec, Jan, and the 1st half of Feb. We really need another early spring.

  7. I didn’t bother watching the Oscars this year. I read instead because I don’t know the movies and a lot of the actors anymore. Glum is me.

Sorry about all that snow you had to shovel. Considering you aren’t running mornings… o_O
    😀 😀 😀

I am thinking the swear words with you, Austin. I had to shovel again this Monday afternoon. Arggggggggh.

  9. I am fearful that April 1st may prove to be an April Fools joke, and continue to snow. Baseball, that’s the ticket, think baseball and all things spring.

I’m with you Austin , dealing with snow this week with more coming . I am surprised that in your situation you aren’t cursing like a parrot in a biker bar . I can only say No Mo Snow !
