Day And Night, We Do The Snow Dance…

Juno HouseIt’s going to be a very busy night at The House on the Hill, Modern Philosophers, because I need to write three shows’ worth of monologue jokes for Wednesday night’s taping of The Nite Show.

I always work better on a deadline, but that other writing commitment means I have to be quick with tonight’s blog post.

I took a bunch of photos of yesterday’s snow, and I thought it would be cool to show you how the storm looked during the day, and then again at night.

Snow Miser really has us dancing to the beat of his snowfall.  I wake up to the sound of snow blowers, spend my day shoveling snow, and then drift off to sleep worrying about how much snow is supposed to fall the next day.

I’ve never been the best dancer, and I can’t wait for this dance to be done…

Sun 2Here’s a look up the street from the front porch.  As you can see, the roofs of my neighbors’ homes are white again.

Night 1Here’s a look up the very same street at night.  Yes, I had to go out after dinner and shovel again because it just ended up snowing all day.  It really never stops…

Night 2Here’s that same view when I used the flash.  You can see the falling snow now, and it really does look like it’s dancing, doesn’t it?

As much as I hate the snow, I like how it adds character to this photo.

Sun 4The view down the street during the day.  Can you see the kitty prints in the snow, just above the words “kitty prints”.

The neighbors in that house on the left let their cats outside, and they like to run across my lawn and driveway in the snow.  I always discover their prints in the morning.

Night 3The view down the street at night.  The snow was coming down pretty hard at this point.  It was as if Snow Miser had picked up the beat, so the dance would go faster.

Sun 3Janine’s little blue house always looks so pretty.  Soon enough, her garden will be in full bloom, and there will be no sign whatsoever of all that snow on her lawn.

At least that’s what I keep telling myself.  I’ve got to have something to hold on to in order to not go completely insane!

Night 4The driveway was finally clear.  For the second time that day.  I’m sure I burned a lot of calories just to make a path for Zombie Car to take me to work this morning.

Sun 1The little path I’d carved through the yard for the oil delivery guy was still somewhat visible, but I was too tired to shovel back there, too.

It was a slow dance at this point, and I didn’t have the energy to move much faster.

Night 5Somewhere off in the distance, is Stephen King’s house.  If you cross the bridge at the end of my street, it’s about two miles up that road.

Something about this photo made me think of my famous neighbor…

Night 6A final look up the block.  The snow continued its dance, but I left the dance floor, as I’d had enough for one day.

I’ll have to put my dancing shoes back on again tomorrow according to the weather report.  Looks like we’ll be having a white St. Paddy’s Day.

That’s all the time I have, Modern Philosophers.  It’s time to waltz into TV Writer Mode and write some funny one liners to make Danny look funny.

Hopefully, I won’t have to interrupt the writing process to take my snow shovel out for another dance…

I thought you’d chased Miser out of town. No? My suggestion, dress in green tomorrow, pick up a flute and like St. Patrick entice him off the coast of Maine! I know you can do it!

At least the snow makes for some beautiful pictures though I’m sure you have enough of them by now.

I wouldn’t mind the snow so much if only I didn’t have to buy winter tires and shovel the driveway. At least snow makes for some pretty photos!
