Mad Men Sitcom Spinoff Gets Green Light At AMC

Mad Men might have ended its glorious run, but maybe AMC should give some serious thought to producing my spinoff idea. Call me, AMC!

The Return of the Modern Philosopher

Mad MenFor those Modern Philosophers already mourning the end of AMC’s hit series “Mad Men” even before the second part of Season 7 gets around to airing, there might be a reason to put away the black armbands and break out the laugh track instead.

Multiple sources have told me that AMC has given the green light to the production of  10 episodes of a spinoff series, that will be a half hour sitcom.

While the details are still very vague at this point, this Modern Philosopher has been told that the series will focus on Jon Hamm’s Don Draper and a new wife, who will be introduced in the penultimate episode of the series.

Hamm has shown great comedic range in his guest stints on Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show, and Parks and Recreation, as well as in movies like Bridesmaids, so it’s not at all farfetched that he…
