Why So Blue, Moon?

blue moonHey, moon,

Why so blue?

It’s a beautiful

Summer night.

It’s Friday.

The work week

Is done.

The weekend

Has finally arrived!

There’s no need

To be blue.

Do you want

To talk

Has you down?

I know

A thing or two

About being

It’s not

My favorite color,

And it doesn’t

Look good

On you.

Is making

Such a big deal

How blue

You are.

Don’t you hate it

When people

Get involved

In your personal

I’m just asking

I want you

To know

You have

A friend

Down here,

On the big, blue marble

You watch over

Every night.

Blue-Moon beerMaybe

It would help

To have

A beer.

A particular brand

Comes to mind.

I’m not much

Of a drinker,

But sometimes,

A beer

With a friend

Is all it takes

To chase away

The Blues.

blues-brothersWe’re on a

Mission from God,

After all:

To cheer up

The Earth’s

Faithful satellite.

Hey, Moon…

Why so blue?

  1. Perhaps the moon is blue because “Rowdy” Roddy Piper has passed. 😦

  2. Stefi says:

    I love this poem.
