Philosophical Pondering: To Hump Or Not To Hump?

Hump DayGood morning, Modern Philosophers!

Thought it would be fun to shake up things a little by throwing out a quick topic for Philosophical Pondering.Β  Just something to get the Deep Thoughts flowing on a July Wednesday.

Ponder This: During a short work week, does Wednesday still deserve Hump Day status?

Hopefully, pondering that will keep you out of trouble all day and make the work day just fly on by.

Let me know what you come up with on this one…

  1. grannyK says:

Only half of the day qualifies, so hump morning. Just my opinion.

  2. Dapper Dave says:

That’s a good question….I don’t know the answer, but I would guess that Tuesday should have been hump day. In any event, I love that Geico commercial!

  3. MainerChick says:

Nope it doesn’t deserve it this week. It’s a double Friday or a Wensfriday. Like those montuesdays that happen for a Monday holiday. Except in this case we get 1.5 Fridays instead of a Tuesday on crack.

  4. floridaborne says:

If you work Saturday through Wednesday, then Monday is hump day. If you’re a trucker who has to work 3 month shifts, then the second month is hump month. I think a schedule like that would the the straw that broke the camel’s back.

  5. I agree with granny K–though in Canada our hump day would be just this afternoon as our holiday was on the 1st

  6. I have absolutely no idea, but a camel in the office would surely take one’s mind off the matter, don’t you think? Aside from being a whole lot of fun πŸ˜‰

  7. I think it’s a matter of perspective. I don’t have a shortened work week due to the holiday, so yes, it’s still Hump Day for me.

  8. Kate Lester says:

This is too difficult a question for me, I’m afraid. I’m trying to housebreak a puppy and not getting enough sleep as it is. I do like the camel in the office, though. One hump or two?

  9. Lanthie says:

Every day should be hump day!

  10. WHERE did you find that picture? That is just awesome.

  11. I say let it be constant. People in Europe might want a hump day Wednesday.

    • Austin says:

Always catering to the Europeans. When does it stop? America needs to break away from Europe and declare its independence… πŸ™‚

  12. jaklumen says:

I’m a SAHD and a homesteader– most days just tend to run together for me. Not to mention I think of Wednesday more as when the grocery sale ads come out.

  13. queenlorene says:

I must have the dirtiest mind….I thought you were going X-rated….

    • Austin says:

Sometimes, one uses a headline to lure in the readers… πŸ˜‰

      • queenlorene says:

HAHAHAHA! Happy day humping….I mean, Happy Humping day….No, I mean Happy Hump day (and July 4 tomorrow-don’t blow those great fingers off–wow that sounds x rated too….) Sorry, don’t know what has gotten into me! OMG, THAT is x-rated as well. Must be the holidays….

      • Austin says:

Some people just get a little whacky on Independence Eve…

  14. drishism says:

Short work week? You have never waited tables… or worked in any other restaurant. In defense of my former restaurant coworkers, people who currently work in restaurants, and all people in the future who work in restaurants… the 4th is not a Holiday for many people when a cheap pizza or burger can be sold 😦

  15. 1wanderingtruthseeker says:

What??? I’ve been humping All week, you mean I can only hump on Wednesday?
