Good morning, Modern Philosophers!
Thought it would be fun to shake up things a little by throwing out a quick topic for Philosophical Pondering.Β Just something to get the Deep Thoughts flowing on a July Wednesday.
Ponder This: During a short work week, does Wednesday still deserve Hump Day status?
Hopefully, pondering that will keep you out of trouble all day and make the work day just fly on by.
Let me know what you come up with on this one…
Only half of the day qualifies, so hump morning. Just my opinion.
π
That’s a good question….I don’t know the answer, but I would guess that Tuesday should have been hump day. In any event, I love that Geico commercial!
Oh, that’s a still from a Geico commercial? My first thought was “How did they get that camel into an office space?”
Yes, it’s from the famous Geico Hump Day commercial. Geico, a proud sponsor of The Return of the Modern Philosopher Blog! π
Thanks, Dave. You’re retired, so every day is the weekend for you. What does it matter??? π
Nope it doesn’t deserve it this week. It’s a double Friday or a Wensfriday. Like those montuesdays that happen for a Monday holiday. Except in this case we get 1.5 Fridays instead of a Tuesday on crack.
You must have some really crazy calendars in your house… π
If you work Saturday through Wednesday, then Monday is hump day. If you’re a trucker who has to work 3 month shifts, then the second month is hump month. I think a schedule like that would the the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Get that camel to a neurosurgeon. Stat!
I agree with granny K–though in Canada our hump day would be just this afternoon as our holiday was on the 1st
Exactly! I’m going to be a very happy girl once 2 o clock rolls around π
π
I have absolutely no idea, but a camel in the office would surely take one’s mind off the matter, don’t you think? Aside from being a whole lot of fun π
You don’t have a camel in your office? Ours is name Wily Omar. He’s pretty cool…
Too cute!
π
I think it’s a matter of perspective. I don’t have a shortened work week due to the holiday, so yes, it’s still Hump Day for me.
You need to declare your independence and celebrate tomorrow. Make it a short week! π
This is too difficult a question for me, I’m afraid. I’m trying to housebreak a puppy and not getting enough sleep as it is. I do like the camel in the office, though. One hump or two?
That’s what he said… π
Every day should be hump day!
But then we’d never get to the weekend!
WHERE did you find that picture? That is just awesome.
That’s from the Geico Hump Day commercial. You haven’t seen it yet? It’s a hoot!
I say let it be constant. People in Europe might want a hump day Wednesday.
Always catering to the Europeans. When does it stop? America needs to break away from Europe and declare its independence… π
I’m a SAHD and a homesteader– most days just tend to run together for me. Not to mention I think of Wednesday more as when the grocery sale ads come out.
Oooo, Hump Ad Day!
I must have the dirtiest mind….I thought you were going X-rated….
Sometimes, one uses a headline to lure in the readers… π
HAHAHAHA! Happy day humping….I mean, Happy Humping day….No, I mean Happy Hump day (and July 4 tomorrow-don’t blow those great fingers off–wow that sounds x rated too….) Sorry, don’t know what has gotten into me! OMG, THAT is x-rated as well. Must be the holidays….
Some people just get a little whacky on Independence Eve…
Short work week? You have never waited tables… or worked in any other restaurant. In defense of my former restaurant coworkers, people who currently work in restaurants, and all people in the future who work in restaurants… the 4th is not a Holiday for many people when a cheap pizza or burger can be sold π¦
Don’t make assumptions, doc. I put myself through NYU as a busboy, waiter and bartender. Really worked myself up the career ladder at Griswold’s Pub. So there!
You are correct. Your post was not about the short work week… it was about what to call hump day in a shortened work week. I apologize. Please don’t confiscate my Deep Thoughts toga!!
Never. Togas are awarded for life! π
π
What??? I’ve been humping All week, you mean I can only hump on Wednesday?
Goodness. Humping is one of those words with so many meanings… π
