I like to shake out the cobwebs, and try to remember who I am and what to expect.
For example, this morning, I concluded that it was Saturday, which meant I didn’t have to rush out of bed to run before work. Then I remembered I was single, so there was no need to see if there was anyone next to me in the bed. A quick rundown of my operating system told me there was nothing important on the agenda today.
That meant I could hit snooze on the whole idea of kicking off the day with renewed hope, and get a couple more hours of sleep. But I did tweet out this before I drifted off to Dream World again…
I don’t think there’s necessarily anything wrong with this philosophy.
Sometimes, you’ve got high apple pie in the sky hopes, and sometimes, you’re tired and just want to catch up on the sleep that eludes you when you’re making big plans to change your life.
I ended up walking to the library to renew the book I’m reading. I managed to get out between snow squalls, and now the only thing I want to do today is curl up on the couch and read.
Of course, I’m going to need to convince Cleo to share the couch with me, since she’s currently curled up asleep next to me as I write this.
She’s a Muse, but is forever on a nap break.
And this decision to put off hope for the day doesn’t mean I’m not being creative. Not only am I churning out this gem of a blog post, but I also tweeted this million dollar idea to the folks at Saturday Night Live…
Now don’t tell me that isn’t a classic. It probably has the entire writers’ room on SNL scrambling to make this idea a reality.
For all I know, Lorne Michaels is trying to track me down to hire me. So I should probably go now to prepare for his call.
Hope you’re all having a great Saturday. Now that you have my Twitter handle, feel free to follow me on there for more brilliant nuggets…
